Cross Platform SDK (Adobe ANE)??

Postby gamebuilders » May 1st, 2014, 12:28 am

Hi guys,

Why is there no cross platform ANE for the Flash APIs? I would have thought by now being that you guys are backed by Yahoo that wrapping your native libs in an Adobe AIR native extension would be easy.

If that is to much, Why not just provide an as3 implementation to us that does not require loading of a swf so we can use your service on mobile devices?

This limitation is really causing AS3/AdobeAIR developers to look elsewhere to services like AppWarp for cross platform multiplayer because they already provide an ANE. Any response would be welcomed guys???

It's perfectly working on mobile devices.

@RastaRalle, what are you talking about? Are you saying the AS3 SDK works on mobile?

Yes, I recently released an android game using some gamesnet features.
Just link the swc to your project and it should work.

@RastaRalle just tried it on a Galaxy S3 and nothing happens. No errors, no connection. Surprised there were no compiler errors. Is there any kind of configuration setup necessary? Same exact code runs perfectly in the browser.

@RastaRalle also are you referring to the multiplayer API?

@RastaRalle Wow got it working. Had to get rid of the playerio package and just use the new PlayerIOClient.swc. Thanks for letting me know. Didn't know they changed the way the library works.
