Development Server is Crashing

Postby Teonnyn » November 16th, 2013, 6:52 pm

I'm just picking up an older project again on a new computer and I'm having some strange immediate issues. When I try to start my development server - the latest package, on Windows Seven Pro, it stays open for a few minutes than apparently crashes, and can not be closed in the Task Manager. The game itself does not register it as being Online, either. This is the first time I've had this issue with Player.IO and it's baffling. The computer itself is brand new as of a month.

EDIT:
I notice that the folder goes into "Busy" mode and stays that way as well - the folder for the Player.IO Server. In case of a completely fresh 'install', it won't even give me time to enter my login before it closes.

Figured out the apparent issue: Avast! seems to think Player.IO is a threat and is force-closing it. I've temporarily solved this by adding an exclusion to tell Avast to ignore Player.IO's dev server.
