Is persistant data really here ?

Postby fox1980 » May 27th, 2010, 6:58 pm

I was surprised to find out a new tab in my admin panel. Was waiting for a big announcement and now here it is, and with good documentation too. Thank you guys, this really makes my day!
Is this BigDB the same that Google uses ?

We're soft-launching it now. We'll start shouting soon enough.

Nope, their thing is called BigTable, our thing is called BigDB. It's not the same :-)

It looks great, can't wait to start testing it.
By the way there's a dead link on the feature page here:

http://playerio.com/features/bigdb/

If you scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "BigDB documentation for multiplayer code", it takes you to :

http://playerio.com/documentation/refer ... rary.bigdb

when it should point to:

http://playerio.com/documentation/refer ... rary.bigdb

It didn't take me long to find out where the documentation was, just mentioning in case you didn't know.

Hey,

Thanks for finding that; it's been fixed now.

Let us know if you find more errors.

I found another minor issue. I got stuck on this for a little while till i found out how to make it work.

In Internet Explorer 8 when you're adding a new index, you can't type anything in the 'Property Name' field. You have to click 'Create Index', get the 'An index property cannot have an empty name' error message, and only then it will let you type the property name. In Firefox 3.6 everything works fine.
