Changing Facebook application permissions of active app

Postby mindbogglegames » March 30th, 2012, 10:32 am

Hey, thanx again for a great service! Here's a question for you guys.

Sitebox doesn't trigger a window for old users if I add new application permissions in the sitebox settings. For example if a user has accepted basic permissions for the application and then I later change in the Sitebox settings that I also want to be able to access user_birthday there is no new popup window requesting this for the user.

Is this something I should expect Sitebox to be able to handle?

Sadly Facebook is very very slow at replying to server side requests (up to 15 seconds). Asking for users current permissions would require us to do two server side requests when authenticating a user.

We opted for not doing that every time a user logged in. You can use the Graph API to ask for more privileges later.

Hey, that should be fine. Guess you should check if you have permissions everytime you post or get data from facebook anyway. So if not just pop up a window with the graph API
