Unity WebGL (HTML5) Build

Postby SoftalexGames » May 18th, 2015, 9:09 pm

When I build my game for WebGL platform in Unity3D I can not connect to server.
In this case "QuickConnect.SimpleConnect" do not make any callbacks, neither "successCallback" nor "errorCallback".

Development Server and Client are running at same computer.
Builds for any other platform work flawlessly.

Does anyone have successful experience of using QuickConnect in WebGL Unity3D builds?

Last I looked WebGL doesn't yet support networking.

Christian, this is great news! Thanks.

Do you have any estimates on Multiplayer functionality for WebGL? We have an asynchronous game and in order to port it to WebGL we don't need a full real-time multiplayer support, just the ability to send some verification data between the client and server.

Hi

It would be great to have the Multiplayer working in WebGL for a game that we are currently developing.

Cheers

Using the newly released PlayerIO JavaScript client library, it should be possible to get multiplayer functionality in your Unity WebGL game, but you would have to use the Unity external call interface to send messages between the game and the browser page.
