Back-up/Restore

Postby wildbunny » June 29th, 2011, 2:50 pm

Hi there,

I noticed playerIO has an export feature, but no import feature...?

Also, the export doesn't contain the names of the tables, only the contents which prohibits any back-up mechanism that we'd write on top of your export...

What is the proposed back-up solution for users?

Cheers, Paul.

We automatically backup your data at least every 24 hours, the export feature is meant for users who wishes to migrate off, of the Player.IO service and not as something you should use to write services around.

That's only sufficient to protect against hardware failure, not user error... Unless we get access to these back-ups? :)

I thinking of the case where some bug (of mine) means the database gets erased and I need to restore an earlier version...

Ok, so it just happened - a code bug wiped my DB :|

Has anyone written a script to re-import the json from the website back into bigdb?

Cheers, Paul.
