Finding specific user's ranking?

Postby lei » February 8th, 2011, 1:50 pm

Hello,

i am trying to implement a ranking system into my game, and wonder by what method to easiest read a given user's position in a highscore table.
I have a table filled with scores and names, what query should i use to find a user's place in it?

Thank you for any advice!

Anyone?
I'm almost sure i'm not the only one who ever needed something like that.

I suppose i could load the whole table and search, but that seems very inefficient.

Nevermind, seems the bigdb-f32/efficiently-loading-an-arbitrary-range-t1295 thread answers my question.
