Backup Solution

Postby phil.peron » January 13th, 2011, 5:04 pm

Hi all,

A question came up during a recent team meeting regarding BigDB backup solutions. Is this something that can be requested should something go wrong or should we be prepared to run our own backup jobs periodically?

Thanks.

Hi Phil,

We have backup plans for all the data stored in BigDB so that noone will lose data because of failures on our end.

However, it is not possible to restore BigDB data for a specific game from a specific point in time, so if you are worried that you will accidentally destroy data through bad code in your client or serverside code, then you need to manage backups of that yourself.

There is an export function in the BigDB Admin Panel that you can use to extract a dump of the data.

Perfect. That's pretty much what we thought. Thanks for the quick reply, Henrik!
