Account Validation

The email verification points to the old url, which results in a "we have moved" page. It is not apparent to the user whether the validation process succeeds or fails.

Try re-sending the validation email from your Control Panel, it should work better now.

I don't see any sort of email validation section in the account settings. Is there some other Control Panel?

If you click your name in the top-right corner you should be able to get to "My Account". I'm pretty sure there is a link to re-send the validation email there.

If I don't see such a thing, can I take it to mean that my account was successfully validated? Even though the original validation link took me to the old url? Because I don't see anything like that.

You'll see a reminder in a few days that definitely has a link to re-send validation. Don't worry.
