Suggestion

The api has been great so far, very easy to implement.

I would however like to be able to track how much data I'm using, so I can get an idea of what plan I'll need.

Other than that good job and I'm sure there's probably tons of things that will be implemented soon :D.

Hey 69corvette!

We'll be rolling out bandwidth tracking in the admin panel very soon, where you'll be able to see graphs of bandwidth usage and monthly totals.

For now, the development server shows the bandwidth usage pr. user and for the game in total, so you can get an indication of what kind of plan will be appropriate based on that. Keep in mind that we're not yet charging for anything, partly because we haven't finished the bandwidth tracking yet.

May i ask what you're building?

I'm happy to hear that you found it easy to use, and yes, more great stuff is upcoming!

Hey Oliver!

Well my friend and I are building a casino type game, in honor of the first game we built in high school in Java.

It's nothing too complex but we were a little agitated with the Nonoba MP API. It shouldn't use that much bandwidth due to it's casual gameplay, but I was wondering about the databases mentioned in the documentation. Are these databases just for separating rooms or can we write user data etc?

+'s: -Showing a lobby when we want, which is not before the game loads :D
-Using our own graphics for the lobby and chat
-Not having to wrap our game with the pre-made lobby.

The sample game UI has been a nice starting point for our lobby and chat as well.
It should be ready for testing in a few days to a week hopefully. BTW this came at the absolute perfect time for us.

Looking forward to working with API!
Thank you to the Player.IO team!

Ah, cool! A casino type game should use almost no bandwidth at all.

Currently, the databases you mention are for partitioning only; that is, if users connect via two different connections that are setup for different databases, those users will not be able to see each others games. In the future, more things will be partitioned based on that variable.

Give us a link when you've got the game done. We want to add a projects/showcase section to the site where we can show what people build with it.
