QBasic Gorillas Online

Postby moly » July 1st, 2010, 6:46 pm

Here's the game I've been working on for the last few weeks

If you've never heard of QBasic Gorillas, it's a simple 2 player turned based artillery game that came with the QBasic compiler for MS-DOS.

The source code is available here if anyone wants to look through it: http://github.com/moly/Flash-Gorillas-Online (I'd welcome any feedback on the code, it's my first online game so I'm sure I've probably overlooked something).

Oh the memories... I remember playing this one for hours, many many years ago with my brother. I dare say this game was the one that made me want to learn programming.
Even tough i didn't compile the source, i took a look at it online and it seems pretty well written and fairly commented, i definetely recommend beginners to look at it and learn from it.
I found chat functions on the source code, tough i didn't found out how to chat in the game, is it something you're still working on ?

Pressing t while in a game opens the chat box, I might have to put some more instructions in-game.
