Chess Without Turns

Postby Sos » February 28th, 2011, 10:31 pm

It's my game for the TigSource Versus Compo, I'm gonna be lazy tho, and paste the post from there. So, here it goes.

In Real Time Chess, standard chess rules apply, with some exceptions:

1. There are no turns, the faster the better.
2. It's communist - you need to kill everyone, not just the king
3. Some junk-rules are removed (castling, checks, mates, en passant, a.s.o.)

I guess that's all there is!

Special thanks to Zaal Toni for the chessboard and Chris for player.io ;)

Play!

wooot, awesome idea!!

I once played around with the idea of combining a chess game with one of those rhythm-grids (beatgrids?). It would have all the normal rules etc, but the background music would change with every move. never finished it though...

I love Chess, and I love this new spin on it!

Wondering if there is going to be any lobby system?

Because I get a lot of "looking for challenger..."

Uhm, the board is rotated a quarter (left bottom square should always be black) (http://www.google.com/images?hl=en&clie ... 24&bih=580 )

It's not permitted. The twofold move rule permits a similar pawn to push two spaces ahead rather than only one space on its most memorable move. It doesn't permit you to move two pawns rather than one. The possibly situation when two pieces are moved in one turn is while castling, yet that doesn't include pawns. By the way, can pawns kill backwards? so its not easy, you can play with the full concentrate.
